I made a global OCLC number change in a knowledge base collection, but that change was overwritten by a provider load. Why?

Answer
Global changes to an OCLC number, for example, are subject to change if the title in question is an OCLC-cataloged title. When OCLC catalogs a record for a vendor, that record will be protected from cooperative changes in all collections from that provider in the knowledge base.
If you are not sure why your global changes were overwritten, contact OCLC Support with your OCLC Symbol, the OCLC number of the record that was changed, and the collection ID. OCLC Support can investigate why those changes were made.
