Apply constant data to a bibliographic record (Fundamentals)

Discover how to apply constant data to a MARC 21 bibliographic record in WorldShare Record Manager Fundamentals.

 Note: If you are a WMS library or using full WorldShare Record Manager, please see Apply constant data to a bibliographic record.

WorldShare Record Manager Fundamentals allows you to apply the information in a bibliographic constant data record to a MARC 21 record. You can use any bibliographic constant data record that was created by any individual at your institution.

Apply default bibliographic constant data to a bibliographic record

 Note: This action can only be performed if a default bibliographic constant data record has been selected. To select a default bibliographic constant data record, navigate to Toolbox > Constant Data.

  1. En el editor MARC 21, haga clic en Grabar.
  2. En el menú desplegable Registro, seleccione Aplicar datos const antes por defecto del menú desplegable Datos constantes bibliográficos.

    Aparecerá un mensaje de confirmación con el nombre del registro de datos constantes aplicado y el campo o campos superpuestos del registro de datos constantes.
  3. From the Save drop-down menu, select how you would like to save the updated record.
    • Replace Bibliographic Record
    • Save and Lock Bibliographic Record
    • Guardar registro en curso

Apply bibliographic constant data to a bibliographic record using bibliographic constant data preview

  1. En el editor MARC 21, haga clic en Grabar.
  2. En el menú desplegable Registro, seleccione Aplicar y previsualizar datos const antes en el menú desplegable Datos constantes bibliográficos. Se abre la pantalla Aplicar datos constantes.

    La pantalla Aplicar datos constantes le permite:
    • Preview the bibliographic record with the bibliographic constant data record applied. The overlayed constant data record data is highlighted in blue. The hyperlinked OCLC number will direct you to the bibliographic record in the MARC 21 editor.
    • Ver el registro de datos de constantes bibliográficas seleccionado. El nombre de datos constantes con hipervínculo le dirigirá al registro de datos constantes bibliográficos en el editor de registros de datos constantes.
  3. Select a constant data record name from the drop-down menu. Your default bibliographic constant record is selected by default, but any saved bibliographic constant data record can be selected. This menu contains an auto-suggest text field. Auto-suggestions for available bibliographic constant data records start with the first keystroke in the text field.
  4. Seleccione en la lista desplegable los campos de datos constantes que se aplicarán al registro actual.
    • Campos fijos
    • Campos variables
    • Campos fijos y variables (por defecto)
  5. Click Apply Constant Data. A confirmation message will appear with the name of the applied constant data record and the field(s) overlayed from the constant data record.
