Action |
---|
You may wish to re-run your typical standard COUNTER 5 reports if you regularly (or occasionally) delete/clean up COUNTER 5 usage data files in the License Manager application. You may find the need to re-harvest certain months of COUNTER 5 usage data in License Manager to re-sync the data with WorldShare Reports. |
If you manually harvest any COUNTER 5 usage files, you may wish to re-run any reports containing manually harvested usage data to ensure accurate results for your relevant reporting period(s). |
New features and enhancements
Improved data ingest processing of COUNTER 5 usage
Better synchronization to WorldShare License Manager COUNTER 5 data harvesting
WorldShare Reports COUNTER 5 reporting will now better synchronize with harvested WorldShare License Manager usage data, as recorded in the License Manager harvest summary. Specifically, the following new behaviors are followed:
- COUNTER 5 usage data files harvested in License Manager that you deleted may not have been previously reflected as deleted in WorldShare reports. With this release, there will be a reconciliation of any deleted files between License Manager and WorldShare Reports.
- If your institution has multiple COUNTER 5 usage files harvested for a given usage month, the most recent file is used for reporting in WorldShare Reports (current functionality). However, if you delete the most recent file in License Manager, the next most recent file now becomes the primary data for your COUNTER 5 reporting. Previously, WorldShare Reports would delete the usage month of data and not replace it with the next most recent file harvested in License Manager.
Note: If the next most recent file is expired, no data will be loaded. You should re-harvest data in License Manager for that usage month/vendor/report type and view your COUNTER 5 reports the following day in WorldShare Reports.
- Some manually harvested COUNTER 5 usage files (i.e., not harvested via SUSHI) in License Manager may have resulted in inflated counts in COUNTER 5 reports for those vendors. The measures associated with those manual harvests will be restated. If you actively do your COUNTER 5 data harvesting manually instead of via SUSHI, you may want to re-run COUNTER 5 reports for your relevant reporting period(s) after this release is completed.
The above behaviors apply to COUNTER 5 usage data only. The COUNTER 4 data processing components were not modified as part of this release. We encourage you to utilize COUNTER 5 for your e-resource usage reporting needs.
