Resolution

Follow this process to edit the Search Box Generator to reflect changes in your Metasearch Content configuration choices.

  1. Each time you update the Metasearch Content configuration choices (Metasearch Content-->Default Databases and Licensed Content-->Group Configured Databases), the Search Box Generator-->Search box preview and code defaults to an empty/null state with no databases included.
  2. The next step is to regenerate the Search Box (Search Box Generator-->Select databases for search box), which will then redraw the new Metasearch Content configuration choices into the new Search Box preview and code. You need to select the databases, All Databases, for instance, rather than leaving the default, Use Configure Default (which is the empty database code).
  3. You will also need to Save the changes (bottom right of the Search Box Generator screen) to update the code.
  4. Once that is done, you can Copy to the Clipboard the new code to embed the Search Box into a website.

If you have already selected the database group you want in the search box generator, and you are not seeing changes from metasearch configured additions or deletions to that list:

1.Select a different group.

2.Save

3.Now go back and select the group you want again.

4.Save

This will refresh the search box generator database list to include the edits you have made in the metasearch database configuration.
