This VAOH session examined the basics of classifying resources using Dewey and offered guidance on the use of WebDewey.

Since the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) was first published in 1876, it has grown to be the world’s most widely used means of organizing library collections. WebDewey is the electronic version of the Dewey system, a full representation of all published numbers, plus other mappings and new terms that have been approved by the Dewey Editorial Policy Committee. OCLC has published and maintained Dewey since 1988.
