I found an incorrect OCLC number in a knowledge base collection, but I don't have a correct OCLC number with which to replace it

  • You have identified an incorrect OCLC number on a knowledge base record, but there is no correct WorldCat record that would serve as a suitable correction or replacement

Resolution

In order for the OCLC knowledge base team to remove an errant OCLC number, there must be a replacement record to which the knowledge base title can be attached. Without this existing record, the change cannot be made.

To correct this issue, a new WorldCat record will need to be created. Once created, the new, correct OCLC number can be used to correct the title in the knowledge base collection.
