How do I update item format in a local knowledge base title from journal to ebook?

Symptom
  • The item format on a knowledge base record in a local collection does not match the MARC record format. Therefore, full-text links are not showing in WorldCat Discovery.

Resolution

If the collection is local and customizable, you will need to update the format using a KBART file. Within the KBART, do the following:

  1. Download the KBART file for the collection with incorrect format type.
  2. Identify the record within the file (usually, you'd open the KBART in Excel and search for it).
  3. Change the coverage depth column for the title with incorrect information to: ebook
  4. Change the action to: overlay 
  5. Reupload the KBART file into the collection .
