This release of WorldShare Collection Manager provides a single enhancement:

  • Option to receive unresolved records for your data sync collections

Option to receive unresolved records for your data sync collections

If you have used Collection Manager’s data sync collections to synchronize your holdings in WorldCat, then you know that some of your records may result in an unresolved status, where records are not added to WorldCat due to sparseness, validation, or other reasons. Previously, you would have received an unresolved cross-reference report indicating the OCLC number and local system number of the records that were unresolved and placed in WorldCat staging for your review. Now, if you choose WorldCat Records as your record output, you can opt to receive a file of your unresolved records, so that you can update those records and either save to WorldCat directly via Connexion, or send them back through data sync for re-processing. Unresolved records are output in a separate file, by collection ID, with unres in the filename, such as:


In order to receive unresolved records, enable MARC Record Delivery when creating your data sync collection, choose Deliver WorldCat records only for your Records Returned option, and then check the box to Deliver unresolved WorldCat records:
