Symptom
  • User's export file imported from Z39.50 showed hex values for apostrophes (') when viewed in MarcEdit  but appeared fine in Connexion client 
  • The Unicode version of apostrophes, quotes, and other special characters usually occurs when text is pasted into a record from a web page or other alternate source.

Resolution

Edit the record in WorldCat to fix the Unicode version of the character that does not display properly
