Connection details for the Connexion service

Applies to
  • Connexion client

Answer

Access to Connexion browser is through HTTP, not the secure HTTPS. If you require a secure connection, we recommend using WorldShare Record Manager, a secure HTTPS site specifically designed for cataloging.

Explanation of HTTP vs. HTTPS

HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is a standard protocol for transmitting data over the internet. However, it doesn't provide a secure connection, meaning the information exchanged is not encrypted.

Conversely, HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) ensures a secure connection by encrypting the data exchanged between your device and the website.

For secure cataloging access, we encourage you to request access to WorldShare Record Manager, included with your cataloging subscription. This site utilizes HTTPS, offering a safer and more secure environment for your cataloging activities.
