Destination list

 Note: Required for exporting records.

Create at least one destination if you export records (click Create). The client does not provide a default destination.

Until you create a destination, the list includes:

  • (None)
  • File
  • File: (Prompt for filename)

Note: Select File to enter a path and file name, or select File: (Prompt for filename) to export records to a different file each time you use the client. The client prompts you for a file name when you do the first export after starting the program, and uses that file until you close the client.

Make sure the export destination you want the client to use is selected when you close the Export window.

(Optional) Select a destination you created and open a window to edit current settings (click Edit).

(Optional) Delete a selected destination (click Delete).

Allow export of workforms check box Allow export of workforms (new records that have not yet been added to WorldCat and therefore have no OCLC control numbers).

Default: Check box is deselected. You must explicitly set this option.
Display report for immediate export results check box Open a report automatically when export is completed that shows export errors and, if you convert from one record standard to another, any fields that did not map.

Note: Fields not mapped are dropped from the exported record.

Default: Check box is deselected.
Warn before exporting bibliographic records that include unlinked non-Latin script fields check box

 Note: Bibliographic records only.

If you export records that contain non-Latin script fields that are parallel but not linked to Latin script fields, depending on your local system characteristics, the non-Latin script data may not display after export.

If this is a problem, select the check box to receive a warning message if records have unlinked fields when you:

  • Export a displayed record or records selected in a list.
    Or
  • Mark records in the local file for batch export.

Caution: You must set an option in Tools > Options > Batch before marking records for batch export; otherwise, records export immediately whether you are logged on or offline).

Default: Check box is deselected.

If you get the warning:

  • For a single record, click Yes to continue exporting or No to stop.
  • For records selected in a list or records marked for batch export, click Yes to continue exporting, No to skip the record with unlinked fields and then continue, or Cancel to stop the process.
