How do I make a campus library collection or shelving location unavailable

Here are a few things your library can do to make a collection unavailable in the Service Configuration.

  • Adjust the OPAC Status Grid mapping to make items shelved in X location (e.g., Rare Book Room)  appear unavailable in WorldCat Discovery and suppress fulfillment options.
  • Add a Shelving Location Message to WorldCat Discovery to explain that the collection cannot be browsed; requests can't be placed, etc.
  • Make items ineligible for hold requests by creating a new or editing a Collection Type Policy for Non-Circulating collections and ensuring that no pickup options are found in the Hold Pickup Locations Map.
