Symptom
  • You are trying to log in to the OCLC Community Center and you get an error message saying "HTTP Status 500- type Status Report Description http.500"
Applies to
  • OCLC Community Center
Resolution

This can be corrected by making a change to your WorldShare account. An Admin at your institution can make this change.

  1. In the Admin tab of WorldShare, search for the affected user account and open it.
  2. In the user's account, under Library Record, click the Primary radio button above the user's email address.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Have the user try to sign in to the Community Center again.

If your library uses XML patron loading, note that XML files can overwrite the Primary field. Libraries using XML files to send patron data to OCLC need to include the <isPrimary>true</isPrimary> element when sending email addresses. Files that do not include the <isPrimary>true</isPrimary> element but include an email address will overwrite the primary setting. See XML patron data loading.
